Ministry Report:   January 2009

Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

What a privilege it is to be part of GMF’ world wide network, sharing the common goal of reaching the unreached world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   Praise God for His people’s involvement in missions around the world, and especially with us here in Southern Africa.  Hereby follows a brief update of the work that was done over the last two months.   Thank the Lord with us for answered prayers and financial support for this mission’s outreach.

CONSTRUCTION:   EXTENSION OF GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, STEELPOORT, LIMPOPO PROVINCE, SA

Grace Baptist Church in Eerstegeluk, Steelpoort requested help to extend their existing building.   The church experienced a tremendous growth in membership over the past two years and God is using them greatly in this fast growing mining community in Steelpoort.   Their vision is to start a children day care center at the church.   Hennie, Hennie jr and Sonney worked December, 18-20, to finish the project.   In spite of the extremely hot weather, they’ve got the work done.

REPAIR WORK DONE ON OUR OLD 7 TUN TRUCK

One of our priorities starting this new year was to repair our 7tun truck which is so essential for transporting of construction materials for church building projects and ministry equipment during crusades.  This is an old truck that worked hard for many years, transported goods for the building of many churches.   Hennie worked for two weeks in January to re-build the rusted bed and repair the body work.

GOD PROVIDED FUNDS TO BUY A 7 TUN TRUCK

Praise God for His provision!  God’s timing is perfect and provided funds to purchase a better truck.    This is a Nissan UD 70, 2004 model which is in a very good condition.   The truck will be used for the transportation of equipment for conducting Evangelistic crusades and construction materials for the building of many more churches in God’s Kingdom.   It seems the vision God gave Hennie several years back, to be involved in the building of 200 churches will become a reality.

CONSTRUCTION:   EXTENSION OF CHURCH BUILDING OF NGWENANI BAPTIST CHURCH, VENDA

Hennie did over the last week all the preparations for this project and finished yesterday with the construction of the extension on the church.   Praise God for the new truck as this is reliable and did its first trip to Venda.

NGWENANI BAPTIST CHURCH:   “a Church with a Mission

God has blessed Ngwenani Baptist Church with excellent leaders and it is privilege for us to serve with them in the Kingdom of God.   We attended the quarterly meeting at the end of 2008, when Ngwenani and five daughter churches came together:  Tsidsive – pastor Charles, Makonde – pastor Amos, Mukumbani – pastor Edmond, Musekwa – pastors Vincent & Stanley, and Malale – Bro Donald.    Pastor Edson Magoloi shared the vision of the church into new areas during 2009.   We will also focus during 2009 on the work in Musekwa and Malale to do evangelism and discipleship.   We also assisted the church with the repairs of their crusade tent after it was damaged by a wind storm.   The tent will be pitched soon for the starting of a crusade.

“EL SHADDAI”  -  MISSION’S ACCOMMODATION  & CONFERENCE CENTRE  The following work was done during the last two months:

The purpose of this mission’s centre is to host future Christian conferences and seminars as well as provide affordable accommodation for short-term mission teams, church groups and missionaries.   The long-term purpose of this project is a “tent making ministry”  to generate finances to support ongoing mission efforts.     Our vision is to have this exiting project of the ground and operational by the end of 2009.    Individuals and short-term mission teams are welcome to come and assist with this special project.
